The foundation to a happy healthy dog
Classes are designed to have 8 dogs per class and 2 trainers in each class. We want each team to get the attention they deserve in a smaller class while learning Heel, Sit, Down, Come, Leave It, Drop It" and the importance of the word "No". Behavioral problems such as mouthing and jumping, as well as others, will be addressed. Throughout the class handlers will learn to deal with everyday situations with their dogs, such as; running critters, barking dogs, strange surfaces and more. 7 WEEK
This the next class after mastering on leash obedience. These classes are 4-6 teams to 2 trainers. The class is a 8 week class that teaches you how to work with your dog off leash and have control at a greater distances. Also, you and your dog will learn 18 new commands like retrieval, walking backwards, mid-come stay and much more. (Not every dog is suitable for off leash, but we can still get you the long line obedience). You and your dog will learn commands with distraction and distances.

Now that your pup has mastered on and off leash obedience its time to see what adventures you can get into with AKC Trick Dog. Learning the art of scent detection so you can find money or deer antlers, and find your dogs true potential negotiating obstacles on an urban type agility course.
This class is specifically designed to ensure your dog is still a friendly, social member of the family and not a public liability. Your dog should already have passed Basic Obedience and will learn Off-Leash Obedience as a part of this course. Your dog will be taught to alert to intruders by barking and placing themselves between the threat and their owners. These dogs are NOT trained to ATTACK, but instead to defend their master when a threat arises.

Amanda Ingraham, an Army veteran with 15+ years' experience training both house dogs and Military Working Dogs. Amanda Ingraham is the current Owner/Operator/Trainer of Band of Canines, LLC. Amanda has trained with National K9, earning her professional certification in Dog Training (C.P.D.T.) She has also attended several military courses on training, handling and K9 Health while in the Military Working Dogs Corps. Amanda has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Community Canine Good Citizen (CGCA), Urban Canine Good Citizen (CGCU), and Trick Dog Evaluator. She has learned to train off-leash with the British, Hungarians and Americans. Being a member of the Dog Trainers Association and a member of the International Dog Trainers Association, Amanda believes obedience is the foundation to a happy, social dog. Her training technique consists of a mix of Relationship-based training, Alpha dog training, and Reward and Discipline-based training techniques learned from around the world, as well as right here in America.
Melisa Clarke, 20+ years in the dog world. She believes that the most important part of training is forming a strong bond between dog and dog owner , centered on balanced training to include positive reinforcement and positive discipline. Melisa uses a combination of scientific and relationship-based training that has enabled her to train multiple dogs from the companion level to the AKC show ring. Melisa also has experience in breeding, socialization, basic obedience and therapy dogs. Most recently, Melisa has gained experience through assisting professional trainers with advanced obedience, off-leash training, scent work and service dog training.
Brian Wright has many years’ experience working with and training dogs. Brian has worked with dogs of all ages and breeds and many with disabilities and abusive backgrounds. His intense love for canines with less-than-desirable histories, as well as those with disabilities instilled his passion for training. Brian believes that building a relationship and bonding with the dogs is key to training success because it makes training much more rewarding for both dog and owner. Relationship-based training combines several different training methods, but focuses on a more individualized approach for both dog and owner. It is the relationship between dogs and humans that drives everything, according to Brian! Brian has worked with various clubs and has assisted many professional dog trainers throughout his life. He has also worked with 4-H groups to help kids learn to train their own dogs.
Brian Adams s a veteran of both the United States Army and the United States Marine Corp. After many years of active service, multiple combat zones, and 57 countries, Brian joined the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department and served for 15 years as a Deputy Sheriff. Brian then used his knowledge of military infantry tactics and law enforcement, and attended American K9 Interdiction in Carrsville, VA, where he learned the fundamentals of K9 training during an intense 3-month program. He is a certified Patrol/ Detector Dog Trainer and Handler. Adams and his partner K9 Aron are a Certified Explosives Detection Team. Using his wealth of life experience, knowledge of human nature, and an immense love for dogs, Brian’s training methods consist of a combination of Operant conditioning, and both Science and Relationship-based raining. His strength lies in knowing how to communicate,
and understand dogs and share that knowledge with
